Melville, New York - Marcum LLP, Long Island's largest accounting and advisory services firm and one of the largest independent public accounting firms in the nation, announced that James J. Wienclaw, 49, CPA rejoined the firm's Long Island office as a partner. Wienclaw will focus on tax and business advisory services to implement tax savings strategies for the firm's Long Island and New York City offices.
"Jim brings a high-level of public and private experience to our growing tax practice and we're thrilled that he has rejoined Marcum," stated Joseph J. Perry, firm wide partner-in-charge of Marcum's tax and business services. "Jim already possesses the necessary knowledge to work closely with our clients and meet their evolving needs. This coupled with his strong tax consulting and compliance background makes him perfectly suited to continue our commitment of providing a high-level of service to the firm's clientele."
Wienclaw has more than 14 years experience providing Federal, state and local tax consulting and compliance services for both publicly-traded and closely-held entities. His industry knowledge spans a variety of industries including wholesale and distribution, manufacturing, real estate investment trusts, and service oriented businesses. In addition, Wienclaw offers Federal and multi-state consulting and tax compliance services to high-net-worth individuals.
Prior to rejoining Marcum, Wienclaw spent three years as a partner at another Long Island based accounting firm in its business tax services group. He first joined Marcum in 1996.
Wienclaw is a Certified Public Accountant who has authored numerous articles on corporate taxation for various professional and industry publications. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants where he serves on its C Corporations Committee.
Wienclaw earned a Master of Science in taxation and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.
In addition to his professional affiliations, Wienclaw is a volunteer with Island Harvest. He resides in Melville, New York.
