Marcum Tax Partner Ronald Finkelstein Receives Long Island Business News' "Fifty around 50" Award
NEW YORK – Ronald M. Finkelstein, a tax partner in Marcum LLP’s Melville, Long Island, office, has been named to the Long Island Business News’ “ Fifty or so Around 50” Class of 2010 for his leadership in business, mentoring and support for Long Island’s not-for-profit organizations and commitment to the community.
Long Island Business News’ “Fifty or so Around 50” Award recognizes companies, organizations and Long Island residents who are “around 50 and proud of it.” To be considered for selection, the publication’s editorial staff reviewed candidates who were nominated by their fellow colleagues. Business leaders named to the list were chosen for their leadership in business, mentoring and support for Long Island’s not-for-profit organizations and commitment to the communities that ultimately support them and their business.
“I am honored to accept the distinct recognition as one of Long Island’s ‘Fifty or so Around 50,’” said Finkelstein. “The Long Island business community continues to strive to deliver high results for its clients and community during these challenging economic times. It is important for businesspeople to remain focused on growing their businesses and giving back to the local community.”
Finkelstein is a Tax Partner in Marcum’s Long Island office and co-manages the firm’s Trusts & Estates group. Prior to joining the firm, Finkelstein spent 14 years as an attorney counseling individuals, business owners and fiduciaries with trust and estate matters. He skillfully applies his experience as an attorney and certified public accountant to service his clients’ estate planning needs and guides them to make informed decisions for the future of their family businesses.
In addition to his role at Marcum LLP, Finkelstein serves as president-elect of the Nassau Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. In his nine year membership with the Chapter he has served as co-chair of the Taxation Committee and a member of its Executive Board. In 2007, Finkelstein was appointed vice chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Estate and Trust Administration Committee. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
