Marcum LLP Named One of the Best Companies to Work for in New York for 2009

For the second consecutive year, Marcum LLP has been named one of the Best Companies to Work for in New York by the New York State Society for Human Resource Management. “Marcum's entrepreneurial spirit fosters a culture of innovation which has led to significant growth within the past year,” states Managing Partner Jeffrey Weiner. “This prestigious award is directly attributable to the dedication and hard work of all Marcum employees”. Marcum was also recently named one the Best Places to Work in New York by Crain’s New York Business and the Best Accounting Firm on Long Island by Long Island Business News.
This independent, statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in New York, benefiting the state’s economy, workforce, and businesses. Companies from across the state entered a two-part process to determine the Best Companies in New York. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workforce policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies in the final ranking.
Marcum will be recognized and honored at the Best Companies to Work for in New York awards dinner on Thursday, April 23 at the Albany Marriot. The final rankings will be revealed at the ceremony.
